There was a time when the Portuguese dominated the seas and set out to discover and conquer new worlds. The Portuguese explorers were responsible for discovering more than 70% of the world previously unknown to Europeans. Many of these discoveries were not made official because Portugal was too small to be able to dominate, colonise and defend all territories against the other European powers. These trips celebrate some of the most famous Portuguese explorers; in 2021 Stokey will be celebrating his first East and Westbound Atlantic crossings and his personal discovery of the Azores & the Portuguese continent some 40 years ago. Stokey is a modern day legend; he has been acclaimed by Yachting World, has crossed the Atlantic 32 times, and sailed to and from the Azores 91 times teaching celestial navigation to the new age yachtsmen and women.
